Long tail does not mean that you should spend hours stuffing (or just adding) relevant keywords to your pages. That spoils your copy and usually takes too long to be profitable. It means that you:

Plan the structure of your site’s content, organizing it into categories, e.g. sports cars and family cars for a car site.

Allocate (e.g.‘tag’) existing content to relevant categories.

Each category has a category home page, e.g. a sports car page, that lists links to relevant pages on your site.

For each category, find target keywords (of course I really mean keyword niches). E.g. italian sports cars, sports car insurance.

If a keyword niche is big then make it a category. E.g. italian sports cars might become a category. Planning a site’s structure can be a big job.

For each target keyword, commission or write a long article with lots of words.

Don’t sweat on the individual keywords within your articles. Leaving that copy natural will target 1000s (sometimes 10s of thousands) of keywords. The big job is the initial keyword research and subsequent site planning.

Analyze results. Which keyword niches bring the most response? Continue your keyword research – looking for more keyword niches to target.

There are probably various occasions when you want to display multiple images for a product. For example, a zoomin of a specific product detail like the neck-line of a dress or to provide several views (plan, elevation, etc) of a machine. Refer to the following screen shot to get an idea of how different images for a single product can be displayed.

Before you add any additional images to your product, you need to understand how Zen Cart recognizes and handles additional images for a product.

Understanding How Additional Images are Recognized

Zen Cart uses a base name to distinguish the main picture of a product from other additional pictures of the same product. For example, the main picture of a laptop will usually be the front view. The side and back views might make up the other pictures for the laptop. In this case, the image names could be named as follows:

laptop.jpg
laptop_backview.jpg
laptop_sideview.jpg

Typically, an underscore is used to represent additional product images linked to a base name. You could easily have used “laptopa.jpg”, “laptop123.jpg”, “laptoplaptop.jpg”, etc. However, the latter naming schemes are difficult to comprehend and can lead to a maintenance nightmare if you have many products using images with similar names.

For simplicity’s sake, we shall assume that all additional product images referred to in this book use the underscore as the separator to distinguish them from the base name of the product’s main picture. Thus, from the list of sample laptop pictures listed above, the base picture is the one without an underscore (i.e. laptop.jpg). The base picture is usually uploaded when you create a new product in the Admin Console. For the other pictures, they will need to be manually sent to the server via FTP

Adding Additional Images to a Product

Before you can show additional images for your products, you need to enable this feature for your particular product type:

1. Click on Catalog > Product Types to access the Product Types screen.
2. Choose the product type for which you want to have multiple images displayed and click on the edit layout
button on the side-panel.
3. Make sure that the Show Product Additional Images field is enabled.

To add an additional image to a product:

1. Make sure your additional image contains an underscore (i.e. “_”) after the base name of the main product image you have already uploaded. For example, if a product’s main image is “aaa.jpg”, then the base name is simply “aaa”. A possible name for the product’s additional image might be “aaa_side.jpg”. Recall that the underscore is the naming convention we are using for this book to identify the additional images of a product.

2. Upload the additional image via FTP to the same directory where the base product image is located on the server.

To change the layout for the additional product images of a product:

1. Click on Configuration > Images to access the Images screen

2. Specify the required value in the Product Info – Number of Additional Images per Row field.

1. Not only Google, but other 34 companies are hacked at the same time
Since when companies report to Google when they are hacked?
Why there is no list of these “other” 34 companies?

2. Over 20 accounts belonged to human rights activists were hacked.
Was there a “Human Rights Activist” option under occupation when you sign up with Gmail?
Since when any company know what their customers do at their free time?

3. The hackers used a weakness in Internet Explorer.
Well I am not professional, but I am “expert” enough to know web (servers) do not use Windows based Operating Systems, let alone “Internet Explorer”.
What does a weakness of my front door locker have anything to do with the theft of your SUV?

4. Google traced the origin of hacking to two Chinese schools. Shanghai Jiaotong University and the Lancing Vocational School, who train computer technicians for the Chinese military.

Ok, Lancing(lanxiang) Vocational School is a high school level institution. In China, only the top 1/3 middle school graduates are allowed into high school. Those who can’t get into high school will go to this kind of institution which train hairdressers, cooks, etc. low level professions.
All Chinese educational institutions would be on vocation during the time of hacking. Because of Chinese New Year, the winter break in China comes later than in the U.S.

You know what I am thinking?
The U.S. needs anti-China propaganda on daily basis. So this is just another one of the daily drink for drones. Google CEO was cooperative because it is a chance to give Google more media attention.

Can you image if you got a link from hao123.com homepage, you’ll get more than 100,000 ip traffic per day? even 1,000,000 ip if the position is good enough.

Only make a web directory, but the original owner make more than 50,000,000 rmb from this site and even sold it to the biggest search engine baidu.com.

That’s the miracle for the web directory, and later after hao123.com, so many other directories come out and fight with each other, you can’t image that in the english world, the famous one is 265.com, which was also acquired by Google in china.

Here is a little information for hao123.com from PPC Blog

Baidu’s Hao123.com is China’s largest Chinese web directory / navigational site.

What is Hao123.com?

Hao123.com was launched in 1999 and was acquired by Chinese search engine Baidu.com in 2004.

For Chinese internet users, Hao123 is an Internet “start page” that shows paid and non-paid links on the home page and category pages. Hao123’s homepage consists of over 200 outbound links that are pointing to other popular Chinese websites. Categorized pages consist of outbound links to websites with specific topics including:

Weather:
www.hao123.com/tianqi.htm

Maps:
www.hao123.com/jiatong.htm

Shopping:
www.hao123.com/netbuy.htm

Stock market:
www.hao123.com/stock.htm

Properties:
www.hao123.com/hbzs.htm

Automobiles:
www.hao123.com/car.htm

Health:
www.hao123.com/ylbj.htm

Jobs:
www.hao123.com/rencai.htm

Travel:
www.hao123.com/liyou.htm

My Hao123 Personalized Page

To improve users’ experience, Hao123.com offers this “wide screen” version of the directory site and personalized homepage, My Hao123 which is similar to iGoogle. To use My Hao123, sign up for a Baidu login. You can select your background image and add up to 10 customized URLs which will appear on your personal My Hao123 page:

Submit Sites to Hao123.com

An alternative to advertising on Baidu through Baidu PPC Phoenix Nest is to submit your sites to Hao123’s directory listings.

Baidu has an editorial team ensuring the listing quality and managing site submissions to Hao123.com, so depending on the quality and popularity of your sites in China, you websites may or may not be included.

Inclusion may be difficult for Chinese sites that do not already have high traffic volume or are not yet big brand names. Alternatively, submit your site to Baidu to receive organic search engine traffic.

Hao123’s Legitimacy

Hao123 is one of Baidu’s largest search traffic providers and has the highest web traffic among all the Chinese web directory sites. This caused Chinese webmasters to create fake Hao123 sites, including:

www.hao123.cn

www.hao123.com.cn

www.hao123.net.cn

www.hao123.cc

However, Baidu officially announced that besides www.hao123.com, below are also legitimate Hao123 domains:

www.hao123.net

www.hao222.com

www.hao222.net

Groupon Launched in November 2008, Groupon features a daily deal on the best stuff to do, see, eat, and buy in a variety of cities across the United States.

Groupon sell stuff when Groupon want to buy. A great price is only half the battle – it’s also got to be a great product or service. Between Groupon’s top-rated business partners and unbeatable prices, you should feel comfortable venturing out and trying something new – just because it’s featured on Groupon. They want Groupon to be an addiction you can feel good about.

It seems a graet idea for everyone, that’s why the chinese famous SNS guru Wangxing（王兴 he built the facebook copy called xiaonei.com and sold it for a huge price） learn from it, the same idea, the same way, even the same style & color.

But it’s not new in china, it’s kind like a team to buy thing & stuff, and you can get a cheaper price when you have enough people. if they don’t sell stuff to people, then turn to their competitor, they’ll be mad, and cheaper price also help them get a good profit based on the big quantity.

Even i heard many things from big companies like tencent, they have a inner social network, where they can ask other colleges to buy things together, based on the high level of tencent worker, including high education, high salary, high techonology, all other product companies would like to offer such a good opportunities. Even iphone, I heard tencent can buy that only for 2 thousand rmb. yea, I’m jealous.

Let’s have a eye on 美团 and Groupon.

and it is said this argument is confirmed by Robin Li, who believe that making money is the most important one. So all the CXO and the central team are gone, they think making money only if boring, meanless, in their opinion they have to fight like google’s way to reach their dream.

The original blood are mostly gone, seems it’s kind of a dying old man.

Douban, a symbol of web 2.0 services in China, Raised $10M in Series B financing today, The new round is led by Trustbridge Partners, and co-invested by its existing investor Ceyuan Ventures, who invested in $2 million in 2006.

Douban started from a social networking sites for book lovers, movie lovers and music lovers in 2005, when hype of web 2.0 just began. When people talked about web 2.0 in China, they will talk Douban. Since its inception, Douban is always one of my most favoriate Chinese websites, and I’m also an active user of Douban. Douban’s newest major product development is the release of Douban Radio, which is an personalized online music streaming service powered by a recommend engine to tailor the music just for you.

Currently, Douban’s main revenue source is online advertising, some big brands are Douban’s advertisers already. For Douban Book, it also gain revenues from affiliation with Dangdang, Amazon Joyo and other book ecommerce sites.

Congratulations to Douban and Bo Yang. I strongly believe that Douban can lead to something bigger.

I buy thing from all kinds of B2C shopping mall in china, like amazon.cn, 360buy, dangdang.com, also C2C like taobao.

they all have something in common, they all need an account to register, and then login.

We’re making our own shopping mall, and usual we have the account login and registration, but mike said US people don’t likw to register a account, they want to pay fast and directly, save time, and so did andrew. So we decide to carry out the surgery for our shopping cart system, luckily it’s zencart.

Integrated Checkout Without Account

When a visitor adds something to their cart and proceeds to checkout, they are greeted with three options. They can sign in to their existing account, they can create a new account, or they can proceed through checkout without an account. They are only given this third option if they have something in their cart. After entering their billing information they are sent to checkout_shipping. If they somehow manage to enter the COWOA sequence without something in their cart, then after they enter their billing information they are directed to their empty cart.

There is a COWOA Support Thread here

Download COWOA for Zencart 1.3.8

I have actually used this function for our own and it is working great. So if you are using ZenCart, and need this type of functionality then use this. It will work great for you! Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully!
