There is a new antivirus program on my computer called Omega Antivir and I don’t know how it got there, but I know I want it gone. It is constantly harassing me with alerts and trying to run scans. I’ve tried to uninstall it but I can’t figure out how to keep it gone. Will someone please help me?

Sigh…why is everyone falling for these fake AV programs all of a sudden.
Download from: http://rogueantispyware.blogspot.com/2009/09/omega-antivir.html
That site tells you about the program and gives you a removal AV.
Oh and btw, don’t install programs you don’t know and trust, and don’t go to websites claiming to give you free AV programs. If you’ve got facebook join the group “better computer security”, I’ve set it up with the aim of promoting better, safer PC usage, and of course to help people who have fallen victim to viruses and scams.

try using REVO UNINSTALLER. it will scan for hidden application and it will remove all its leftover. if that doesn’t work try locating the applications directory in program files. my computer c> program files.
your last resort will be the system restore that can be found in start menu > accessories > system tools. restore it when is the date of the application has been installed. good luck.

I have been infected with Omega Antivir before, and wow! It really is annoying! When I was infected with it, I went to http://www.bluepenguinsoftware.com/spyzooka/ and read their blog. The instructions they had there helped me clean up my computer super fast. I would suggest you go there.

You could try to remove Omega Antivir manually by following these instructions:

You could also try using an anti-spyware program, such as Spyware Doctor or Malwarebytes.
