This item should be out of the market ASAP because its not safe at all for the children under 2 years old. We got it as a gift for our son’s first birthday and since then he fall (tripped over) 5-6 times. Balance of this toy is not right. Because the front wheel of this toy is not all the way in the front. So when children try to push it forward, the front of the toys is bend down and the baby falls over and hurt their head by hitting the floor.
You can see on the picture that the steering handler is just over (actually little pass over) the front wheel. But for the toy to be stable child’s body weight has to be behind the handle otherwise the toy’s nose will just dive in and the baby would trip over it.
In the beginning my son just used to sit on it and push the buttons to play different sounds and propeller. But now he knows the can ride it and thats when the fall happens.
I’m going to contact the “consumer reports “and the company itself to recall it from the market. Physics of this toys (weight shifting balance) is just dangerously wrong.

i bought this for my 19 month old son to use as a ride around toy, he loves elmo….within 4 hours he had done something (held the propellar while it was suppossed to be spinning) and it now make a horrible clicking sound. when the airplanes eyes are suppossed to be moving back and forth it just clicks (very loudly) and unless i unscrew like 10 screws to see what i can do (probably nothing) it will continue to make that noise. i actually tried to unscrew the screws today(the day after i bought it) and i couldn’t get them unscrewed enough to let me inside……i’ll try again tomorrow….but i am annoyed.

I will admit that my son (15 months) seems to really like this toy, and the turning propeller is neat, but over all this toy is a POS. Batteries wear down too fast, and with all the bells and whistles I think it is somewhat over stimulating. A few times various components have quit working (like the propeller and the moving elmo on the front) and started working again later, which makes me think that there is a wiring issue with this toy. Between the simpler Little Tikes walker/ride on and this, my son seems to prefer little tikes more even though it doesn’t have all the blinky lights etc. Unfortunately he received this heap as a gift so I’m just hoping it gets recalled soon so I can get rid of it.

I got this toy for my nephews b-day and well when I got it I checked to make sure it was in the box than just wrapped it and gave it to him…. WELL when he got it he started to ride it and it makes a HORRIABLE clicking noise and its cracked behind the front blades my guess is its from the way they shipped it!!!!!! I felt like a complete jerk for giving him this toy.. yes its very cute and he LOVES planes so over all it was going to be a GREAT buy its just annoying the click and dont know how long it will last untill the crack gets bigger and it breaks!!!

What can I say? My two-year-old son LOVES this toy. The sounds are tolerable from the standpoint of the Parent Who Must Endure It. It’s pretty cute. He also love that the wings fold up and down.
The only downside is that you better not walk into it. I did, and I have the bruised ankle to prove it. But hey, it’s not the toy’s fault!
We’ve had this toy since Thanksgiving 2009, and it’s holding up just fine. Interestingly, my son hasn’t been able to remove the seat/storage lid. He has another riding toy with a similar compartment under the seat, and you can’t get him to keep the seat-lid on. Not so with this toy. The lid stays put, doesn’t stick, and provides great fun.
On a serious note, do be careful not to let your youngster use this as a step stool. I found my little guy trying to use it to reach things on the kitchen counter. So like other toys of this nature, don’t leave your child unattended with it. Especially rambunctious two-year-old boys!
