This is the 2nd time that I bought a factory refurbished unit. I will never buy refurbished again because they are not returned to factory standards as advertised.

1. the GPS is easy to be massy and the user really doesn’t know what is the map during drive. the stability is really a big issue. I almost was lost during the way from somky mountain back to my home in durham.
2. when I purchase this product, they promoted it for $20 refund. but 1 month passed and no any news about the refund.

I like my Tom Tom and I am enjoying using it. The Amazon website was misleading. You have the choice of of refurbished or new for the same price. I selected both and in my cart one showed as refurbished and one showed as New, same price for either. The web site is still this way. I went with the new one of course. My Tom Tom arrived with a refurbished note in the box. Still it worked fine. My second and biggest disappointment was when I tried to use the latest map guarantee and was told that my guarantee had expired. For $39. I can bring my outdated maps (9 quarters old) up to date. This is a nice GPS but please fix the website to avoid this error in the future.

I purchased this refurbished. Upon loading it onto my computer, I was told that I am 4 quarters (1 year) behind on updates that I could download and purchase now. TomTom has a guarantee that they will download any new versions free with in 30 days of use. I spent several days going back and forth with customer service. Since I purchased this Factory Refurbished, they will not honor this. They said in some cases there is a coupon for the free downloads but since my purchase didn’t have a coupon I could not get it. I do not think that is fair. It was not worth the money I saved buying it refurbished. It seems to work okay although it does not stick to my windshield. This creates a bit of a problem since I can’t look and see where I am suppose to be heading, nor can I keep it in a good spot so it can get the required signal. When I decided to not go on a route I planned on going, it got caught in kind of a loop. Haven’t used it since then so do not know if it is still stuck in this loop. My 7 year son had fun holding it when I put in a very short route to try it out.
