This isn’t a review of the product but a warning. I tried buying this refurbished unit on Amazon. It showed in stock. I placed the order on a Friday with 2 day shipping as part of the Amazon Prime trial. By Tuesday it still hadn’t shipped. I ordered a Tomtom Ipod cable to go with it which I received right away. I eventually canceled my order because Amazon customer service couldn’t explain the delay in shipping, and couldn’t tell me when the item would ship.

Dead on arrival. Worked for 4 minutes.

Others complaining of OLD MAP technology with costly update. New ones come with map guarantee. The refurbished models (aside from being junk) do not have free map update.

TOMTOM support (in India) was hardly helpful. I waited on hold for nearly 30 minutes, to get told the same thing I had already tried, even though it said to call customer support if it did not work.

I cannot recommend this product and wish I would have purchased the Garmin 760 instead.

I brought this GPS to upgrade my Garmin 260W. It has good features but not worthy.

Street names are not clearly spelt. Always mislead while taking exits. (eg. 265A prompt as 265B)

Speed limit indicator always malfunction. It will show speed limit only in highways.

Lane assistant is good but it will slowdown your GPS.

    Not at all user friendly.

Only this I like is it will lock satellite quickly and shows number of satellites.

I am waiting for Garmin to launch a GPS with speed limit indicator with voice alert.

    Not Recommended.

If you read advertisement about this product you will probably be seduced with the new features like voice recognizing, new road shapes on the screen a.s.o. Reality is not the same! Those new gadgets are not reliable, not running well and consequently not usefull at all. So, if you have an old tomtom 3rd generation, keep it!

I like the product but doesn’t come with latest map and the bluetooth work only with selective cellphone.
