This item had to be shipped twice – 1st one lost in mail. Delay of 3 weeks. Then when the item arrived, DOA… would never even turn on, much less do any operations. Bad reflection on a “factory refurbished” unit. Normally, a factory refurbished unit is tested more than a new unit… Not this one – good paperweight… Tom Tom tech support could not assist in getting it going. Also, the software they had me download and install bombed my computer to the point I had to have a repairman reformat my hard drive and reload Windows. All in all, not a pleasant experience. Had to return the defective device. Note: this was a gift to a friend… all these bad experiences happened to her – I’m embarrassed that I ordered it for her.

Looks like there are just too many Returns of this product. You go to Circuit City and the likes you find this same product at the same price and under the same label “Factory Refurbished” Why????

When the voice is telling you to turn right or left it does NOT name the street, hwy or Exit number, very confusing if there is a split in the highway/road or multiple options.

I bought a factory refurbished TOMTOM ONE 130 which was deliverd yesterday. I’m a pretty savvy guy, having worked as an engineer designing electrical control systems for gas turbine marine propulsion systems, among other things, but I feel like I’ve been worked over by experts. I’m whipped. The handbook information that arrived with the unit is totally inadequate. I spent about seven hours yesterday trying to figure it all out, and have failed. Another hour this morning convinces me it ain’t gonna work. I’m throwing in the towel. When I tried to reset the system, it refused every time but once. Data entry is difficult. Navigation is difficult. Alternate routes don’t happen. Poor choices in routing were the primary output of this machine. The manufacturer’s website, which purports to provide assistance, falls woefully short of the mark. I’m very disappointed because I had read some glowing reports about this unit and thought I was making a wise choice. I can’t give this GPS a single star, but apparently the system insists that I rate it anyhow, so I’ve given in one star. A ‘no star’ rating should be made available to reviewers.

I haven’t been on a long trip to try it, but liked using it around my area.
