I bought a unit of Garmin GPS and it became a paper weight in less than 6 months of usage. The warranty process takes a long time and customer is expected to pay for shipping cost to fix their crappy product. I doubt Garmin makes quality product but rather crappy product which will fail in very short time so that you will buy another one.

Do not buy this unit. I had an older unit that went on the blink. Garmin would fix it for $90.00 but would not include a map up date. So I bought one of the first 1350s. It does a lot of cute things but it doesn’t navigate well at all. My older one was much better! The 1350 will at times start adding time to the “arrive time” for no reason. You have to shut off and restart to get correct arrival time. Other times it will simply get lost as you drive along an Interstate never passing an exit and go into recalculating. Battery life is about an hour. Complaining resulted in reprograming with no improvement and then replacement with the replacement being just as bad. Wasted my money wish I had fixed the old one. It didn’t do all the cute things but it navigated well! A GPS you can not trust is worse than none at all. Very disappointing as I thought Garmin was the best.

After reading the other reviews I was looking forward to using the Garmin product. After taking it out of the box, the device was unable to locate a satellite signal. I followed the advice on the troubleshooting menu and left it outside in a stationary location for an hour. It still did not work. I called the company for service and they were NOT helpful. After two days I was unable to get the device to recognise any satellite signals and consequently it was completely useless. I put my Iphone GPS next to it and the Iphone was able to pinpoint my location in seconds. The Garmin just sat there like a dead fish. I am extremely disappointed with this device and would recomment that the readers evaluate other products. I plan to go back to my reliable Magellan.

I bought the Nuvi 1350 from a Sam’s Club on November 7, 2009 and it stopped working on December 7, 2009. It went dead seven days after I bought it. This was my first GPS and I need to find one that lasts longer than the Nuvi 1350.

I have never had a GPS unit before, so this one is a first for me. We will use it mostly when traveling, but I’ve been playing with it alot in town since I received it. The voice is clear and easy to understand, and the maps are easy to use. I was frustrated that a detailed users manual was not included in the box, but found it here as a PDF. I’m quite excited about my new “toy.”

THE GARMIN HAS ALL READY BROKE. NOW I HAVE TO START THE WARRANTY PROCESS, JUST NEEDED A GPS THAT WORKED LONGER THAN 45 DAYS
